JJJ was born and raised on the Faroe Islands and his first musical experience was, as a little boy, sitting on his mother's lap while she was teaching him to play on an electric organ. Later on he started playing on his older brother's guitar and bass until his parents bought him his own bass guitar. As a result he formed a band with some class mates. The band only lasted until the end of the summer, but JJJ had gotten a taste for playing music and would sit for hours, alone in his room, practicing music.
It was not until the age of 21 he formed his own band, along with his younger brother Arngrim, this time as the lead singer. It was at that time, singing would become a big part of his life.
"I love all kind of musical genres, and if the melody and the lyrics speak to the audience, I can feel at home in it", Jens says. As well as playing big concerts with White Burst, Jens loves playing small gigs, where you can mingle with the crowd afterwards. Recently he fulfilled a lifelong fantasy, and wrote a Faroese folk-rock album, which is being released on Faroe Island and Iceland.
Jannik was born and raised in Denmark and as a young boy the last thing on his mind was music. His mother played the guitar, but Jannik had not much appreciation for it, he would rather spend time with his friends engulfed in sports.
At the age of 11 he started attending boarding school. There he sat down behind a drum set for the first time in his life. 'I remember it like yesterday, I sat down behind a drum set and fell completely in love with music', Jannik says. Later on he joined the Royal Danish Navy Band while taking a degree in music. After that music became his career, teaching bass, guitars, piano and drums to people of all ages.
Drummers like Steve Gadd and Thomas Lang have been his primary inspiration. Mixing different genres, spicing them up with a bit of showmanship has become his trademark. 'I could never have imagined that there was so much room for diversity in a band like ours, it's a drummers paradise', Jannik says.
Kenni was born and raised in Denmark. His father was a musician so he has been surrounded by music, since he was a little child. 'I have so many childhood memories regarding my parents and music, sometimes I can just close my eyes and let my mind wonder back to when I was a little boy...and it makes me feel good' Kenni says.
In his mid teens, Kenni became fascinated by bands like Queen and Led Zeppelin and started playing music himself. Shortly after, he met the Faroese brothers JJJ and Arngrim joining their Indi Punk band, as a bass player. Together they toured small places and festivals all around Denmark until the beginning of the millennium.
Kenni carried on playing bass in a Rock N' Roll band and in a Death Metal band as a guitarist until he met up with the Faroese brothers again, who had teamed up with drummer Jannik. 'I love playing music with lots of energy in it, and that is exactly what White Burst is all about', Kenni says.
Arngrim was born and raised on the Faroe Islands. Just after reaching his teens, Arngrim saw an Ozzy concert on TV. 'Watching Jake E. Lee, I thought that he was the coolest guy I ever saw and I decided that I had to play the guitar', Arngrim says. 'I started playing 'Silent Night', slowly working my way towards Heavy Metal'.
One day Arngrim got a phone call from his older brother JJJ, who told him that they were starting a band. It was a lot of fun and they got to play lots of concerts. Two years later he and his brother moved to different parts of Denmark to study. After the studies were over, Arngrim moved closer to his brother and joined the band that he was playing in, at that time.
Arngrim likes playing all kinds of music, but the style of White Burst is the one he loves the most. 'There is a lot of tension in our music and it takes a lot of energy to play', he says.
